Section: Tbilisi/Batumi → Zugdidi → Mukhuri village Early in the morning, we head out from Tbilisi/Batumi toward western Georgia. We meet in Zugdidi, get to know each other, and grab lunch at a cozy restaurant. Then we head to Mukhuri village. We'll relax at a guesthouse, talk through the route details, and get our gear ready for the trek.
Day 2
Climb to Mount Natipuru and trek to Lake Okhoje
Section: Mukhuri village → Mount Natipuru (2055) → Okhoje Pass → Lake Okhoje Distance / ascent / descent: ~8 km / ↑1160 m / ↓660 m Trail description: Early morning, we hop into 4x4s and head up to Mount Natipuru (2055 m), our starting point. We'll hike through alpine meadows, then descend toward coniferous forests and waterfalls. We'll take a break here to rest and eat lunch by a mountain river. Then, it's a steady climb up to Okhoje Pass, followed by a trek to Lake Okhoje where we'll set up camp for the night.
Day 3
The path to Lake Tobavarchkhili
Section: Lake Okhodje → Eastern Toba → Lake Tobavarchkhili Distance / ascent / descent: ~5 km / ↑500 m / ↓350 m Trail description: First, we need to tackle the Eastern Toba Pass (2880 m). We'll descend to the lake over rocky sections and snowfields. Once we reach the lake, we'll set up camp.
Day 4
Exploring the Tobavarchkhili surroundings
Section: Lake Tobavarchkhili → Didgali → Kaliashi → Ertskemi → Lake Tobavarchkhili Distance / ascent / descent: ~? km / ↑? m / ↓? m Trail description: Today is all about exploring the other glacial lakes in the area: Didgali, Kaliashi, and Ertskemi. They’re just as stunning as Tobavarchkhili but tucked away deeper in the mountains. We’ll hike up the lake’s northeastern ridge and then drop down into the gorge. We’re hiking light today, so expect plenty of swimming in alpine waters before heading back to our camp on the shores of Tobavarchkhili for the night.
Day 5
Descent to Magana Waterfall and Jholora River
Section: Lake Tobavarchkhili → Magana → Jholora Distance / ascent / descent: ~12 km / ↑300 m / ↓2000 m Trail description: Time to say goodbye to Tobavarchkhili and head down toward the Magana waterfall. From there, we’ll push on to the Jholora River. It’s a big descent today, so watch your step, especially on the steeper sections. We’ll set up camp right by the river.
Day 6
The finish line. Heading home
Section: Jolora river → Kimakhoma shelter → Tskuri village → Tbilisi/Batumi Distance / ascent / descent: ~8 km / ↑970 m / ↓330 m Trail description: We'll hike to the Kimakhoma shelter, where our trekking route officially ends. After a quick breather, we'll hop into a truck for the ride down to Tskuri village, where our transport to Tbilisi/Batumi will be waiting.
*If you're not ready for the fun to end, you can add a trip to the Black Sea beaches in Shekvetili and Ureki — the perfect way to unwind after an intense mountain adventure.

Trip FAQ
Round-trip transfer, guide support, meals on the trail
No. You need to be in good physical shape and have experience with multi-day treks and scree slopes. Be ready for tent camping and carrying a full backpack.
You'll need to carry a backpack weighing roughly 15 kg.
Meals are included (2-3 times a day). Everyone pitches in to cook together with the guides. For vegetarians, we set aside portions before adding meat, but we don't use separate cooking pots (feel free to bring your own if needed).
Only at the very beginning and the end of the route. Stock up on power banks.
If you have knee or back pain from carrying a pack, it's better to sit this one out.
We strongly recommend getting medical insurance that covers emergency transportation.
HEADS UP!!! If you don't have it, you'll be responsible for all transportation and medical costs yourself.
