A tough winter route for those who like it rough. Deep snow and steep climbs. All this over more than 20 kilometers.
Tour program
Departure from Tbilisi
We meet near 300 Aragveli metro at 8:00 and head towards Mariamjvari. We'll stop at a shop on the way to use the restroom and grab some extra water or snacks.
Forest and cemetery
We'll start our trek from the Sagarejo cemetery, climbing through the forest first, then reaching the river and heading up the riverbed.
The highest point
Next, we'll turn toward the highest point of our trek—the whole reason we're here. At 1,900 meters, you'll get a killer view of both the reserve's mountain cliffs and the Gareji desert.
