What you'll see on the trail

Sahizari Natural Monument Located near the village of Sioni, on the slopes of the extinct Kabardjina volcano. These cliffs were formed by the erosion and weathering of volcanic rocks caused by heavy rainfall.

In the Middle Ages, villagers used these rocks as a hideout during enemy invasions. That’s where the name comes from—Sahizari translates to "place of shelter" or "refuge."
