Itinerary
Day 1 — Up the Trails, Down into the Caves
We start at a place that feels almost unreal — Katskhi Pillar. This is a monk’s retreat atop a narrow, 40-meter-high rock. A literal ladder to the sky and a rare trail leading us to a viewpoint with breathtaking panoramic views. A truly atmospheric beginning.

The next stop is Dzudzuana Cave. This is serious business — no lighting, railings, or walkways. Just silence, cool air, and the knowledge that this is where the oldest woven thread in the world was discovered. It feels like stepping right into an archaeological expedition. After that, we return to camp for a homemade lunch and some rest — and then, here comes the via ferrata!

In the evening, when the heat fades, we tackle a rocky via ferrata — climbing 50 meters on a secured route with safety gear. Along the way, there’s a secret cave filled with minerals sparkling like a starry sky and a refreshing coolness of +5°C — pure bliss after the daytime sun.

We finish with swinging over the cliffs — as you swing, the valley stretches beneath you with endless horizons. Right after, it’s time to let go of any tension: a refreshing jump under a waterfall.

Then comes dinner, a campfire, sunset, conversations, and sleeping in a tent under the starry sky.

Day 2 — Waterfalls and Rocky Cliffs
Wake up leisurely, have breakfast at the camp, and get ready to hit the trail.
Today’s hike leads along a scenic path to the second, more remote waterfall. The route is easy but incredibly beautiful — through forests, rocky areas, light, and shade. You can take a swim at the waterfall if you feel like it.

After we return, there will be some free time. Those interested can try basic rock climbing. It’s relaxed, safe, and fun — the perfect way to feel how your body works.

The final stop is the monastery carved into the rock. Stone walls, silence, centuries of history — it feels like another world.

On the way back, we’ll stop in Chiatura — the city of cable cars and mines — where we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant. The food is simple but delicious, just like everything Georgian.

And by evening, we return to Tbilisi — tired, happy, and a little changed.

What's Included
  • All transfers
  • Professional guide assistance during the entire journey
  • Expert supervision on the via ferrata
  • All necessary via ferrata equipment
  • Professional drone photos and videos
  • Tents and trekking poles

What to bring
Clothing:
  • T-shirt. Preferably a synthetic sports one. Unlike cotton, it wicks moisture well and keeps you comfortable. Merino wool or bamboo fabric shirts are also good moisture-wicking options.
  • Shorts or pants: Depends on your personal preference.
  • Shoes: Should be sporty and breathable. Good options include trail running shoes, trekking shoes, or cross-country running shoes. Avoid flat-soled shoes, shoes without support, casual shoes, ballet flats etc.
  • Water shoes or sandals: Since we will cross a river near the waterfall, bring water-friendly footwear like flip-flops, Crocs, or rubber sandals. Important: they should fit well and be okay to get wet and walk in water.
  • Swimsuit: We will be swimming at the waterfall.
  • Hat: A cap or a sun hat to protect you from the sun.
  • Gloves: On the via ferrata section, gloves are not provided. You’ll need to hold metal rails which can get hot in the sun. Fingerless sports gloves (like pull-up gloves) work well.
Useful Small Items
  • Towel: It’s best to bring your own for drying off after the waterfall.
  • Phone charger: Bring a power bank and cable because your phone battery drains fast while taking photos.
  • Sunscreen: SPF 50 or higher recommended.
  • Personal medication: Don’t forget any ongoing medication you need.
  • Cash: Some places or restaurants may not accept cards. Carry cash in smaller bills just in case.
  • Sunglasses
  • Insect repellent: For mosquitoes and other bugs.
